POWER OF SYMBOLISM Symbols are very powerful and can be extremely useful tools in the creation of your world or help to heal or create aspects on your world. The symbol itself acts like a key that helps you to hone-in on that particular energy. When you see the symbol it should invoke an inner need for you to carry it or use it. This feeling of need is a sure sign that you need what that symbol can give you. I have recently revamped my shop on Etsy! Why? Because this is what I have always wanted to do and sell. In the past I have always been somewhat fearful of what others might think of me and my ways. But I have decided to turn over a new rock! LOL I believe in the power of symbolism and wearing or surrounding yourself with items of this nature. I believe in the natural healing powers of surrounding yourself with the Earth’s Elements! Rocks have a very high energy an...

The first year that I saw them soaring up above with their long necks and elegant wings I fell instantly in love. Their call is unlike any around, kind of like a long gargled foreign bellow. If they fly close enough I can even see the faint red on their heads. Typically they fly together in pairs. I always refer to them as “My Pterodactyls” because that is what they resemble to me. They are breathtakingly grand and deserve respect. WHAT AM I TALKING ABOUT? SANDHILL CRANES General Description A tall, long-necked, long-legged bird with a clump of feathers that droops over the rump; flies with neck and legs fully extended; adults are gray overall (may have brownish-red staining resulting from preening with muddy bill), with a whitish chin, cheek, and upper throat, and dull red skin on the crown and lores (lacking in immatures); immatures have a pale to tawny, feathered head and neck, and a gray body with brownish...

Is it possible for horses to grieve? I say YES! Here’s why. Last February we had our oldest horse on the place pass away, Chili Bean. Chili Bean was about 28 years old. Chili was originally owned by my father in law and was a part of this family before I ever came along. I say originally because since our 11 year old boy, Garrett, fell in love with horses as a baby, he laid claim to Chili as his horse. My father in law loves every minute of it. Well, to get on with the story, a little over a year ago, Chili Bean took his last breath and laid down in our pasture claiming one last hug from all of us, and a kiss from our little heartbroken son. Garrett lost his best friend that day; we buried Chili in our pasture with a fence around him under a tree to protect him. Chili was the top of the pecking order around here. This means he was the boss and second in command was my ...

As a rancher’s wife I get to enjoy the simple pleasures of raising cows. I love it! We brand the cows, doctor them when they are sick, yell at them if they are bad, or hug them if needed! (Okay, maybe I am the only one giving them hugs!) I am also the resident shot giver; I castrate, and I have even got to preg test. For those of you who don’t know what that is, this means I put my entire arm (past the elbow) into a cow’s hiney checking to see if she’s with baby. It sounds challenging, but for me it was one of the most incredible things I have ever experienced. Getting to touch an unborn cow 3-4 months old was amazing. Each spring our cows have babies. These bundles of tiny black baby cows are so very adorable and gawkily all leggy and furry! Their big dark eyes with long eyelashes just melt my heart! My kids and I just love to watch them run and play bouncing ...

Hello everyone!! I am so very excited to share with you my new crafting corner! I have been busy! Before my craft corner was created all of my supplies; Jewelry, scrapbooking, metal stamping, wood burning, etc. etc. Lived in my walk in pantry, only to one day finally wake up realize that I couldn’t even store my canned soup in there - let alone my various appliances, Tupperware you know all that other stuff that actually belongs in a pantry. So BOOM I just started cleaning and reorganizing and BOOM again my craft corner was born! I LOVE IT!! Before these shelving units were filled with books that I had already read and didn’t plan to read again. So I bagged them up (3 big black garbage sacks to be exact) and donated them to my local library! They loved them!! It is so much fun to have my own little corner that I don’t have to worry about! ...
